Our Area of Maine
Village Realty is located in southern Franklin County in the foothills of the Western Maine Mountains. Our service area includes all of Franklin County and portions of Androscoggin, Kennebec, Oxford, and Somerset counties.
In Western Maine we are famous for our beautiful fall foliage, diverse wildlife, phenomenal skiing, hunting, fly fishing, white water rafting, and our seemingly endless network of snowmobile trails. You’ll find it a great place to raise a family, retire, or just get away from it all. The area's numerous lakes and ponds, mountains and forests, combined with its quaint villages, comprise the beauty and appeal of this great part of Maine.
Schools
Some of the best schools in the state are in this area. We are also home to the University of Maine at Farmington, which has received high national ratings. Check out the school links on the Helpful Links page for more information. Places of Worship
The places of worship in the area represent a broad spectrum of denominations and faiths.
Recreation
A large variety of outdoor recreational activities are available, including biking, canoeing, fishing, skiing, ice skating, golfing, hiking, gardening, hunting, snowmobiling, swimming, boating, and camping. Some other favorite pastimes include scenic drives, fairs and festivals, and watching the abundant wildlife, such as moose and loons.
Arts/Entertainment
Our neck of the woods may be rural in character, but there's plenty of great entertainment within an easy drive for those who love the performing arts. From Lakewood Theatre on Lake Wesserunsett in Madison, the oldest summer theater in the country, to the Maine State Music Theatre on the campus of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, there's something on stage for everyone. Maine's Shakespeare theater, The Theater at Monmouth in historic Cumston Hall offers the Bard in repertory with other great plays each summer, featuring Equity actors. You'll find professional Equity actors at The Public Theatre in Lewiston from October through May, performing in a variety of Broadway and off-Broadway shows.
Movie buffs will love Railroad Square Cinema in nearby Waterville, saluted by the Sundance Film Institute as one of only a few select theaters in the country included in its "Art House Project," and home every July of the Maine International Film Festival.
Medical and Social Services
The Farmington-Wilton area has a significant number of medical and social services that make the medical care available comparable to that of some more urban areas.
